Can anyone help with a marriage issue? My husband and I spend a lot of time together. In spite of this, it seems we only do what he wants to do, when he wants to do it. For example, we both ride motorcycles. If we go anywhere, it's usually on the bikes – or we don't go. Granted, it would be foolish to own a motorcycle and not ride it. This is not the case. We ride a lot! But any time I don't feel like riding, you'd think I've betrayed him in some way. If I dare ask to do something, other than ride motorcycles, my idea never floats. If we do what I want to do, he acts like a jerk. Sometimes he'll even pester me as to how long my “thing” will take. Then finally, what really shocks me, is that he doesn't like spending time apart. If we do separate things, he'll say he misses me. (????) However, he’s only interested in a limited amount of things to do. If I don't want to do what he wants, either I suck it up and do it anyway…..or I say “no” and we end up doing separate things. It seems that the “success” of our marriage depends on whether I go along w/ what my husband wants. YES, I’ve tried talking to him about this. NO, he’s not very receptive to me discussing it with him. We haven’t gone to a therapist or counselor either. But, I'm beginning to wonder…….
