Find the Best, Marriage & Family Counselors
There are really a lot of things to be considered by spouses when they start thinking of divorce. And oftentimes, the children are the most affected people in circumstances such as these. Consulting marriage and family counselors is a great idea because these people can surely help you in saving the marriage and in helping the children cope with the changes in your lives.
Some couples do try all different approaches to save their marriage before they even think of filing for a divorce. One of the effective ways to save a marriage is through counseling. In marriage counseling, you and your spouse will be attending sessions with the guidance of a counselor. In marriage counseling sessions, couples will be talking about their personal thoughts and desires with regards to their relationship, problems, and partners.
While the counselor listens to the couple’s discussions, he or she’ll see a problem in their marriage that they could be unaware of. Aside from that, the counselor can also help you by recommending better ways in dealing with the problems.

What makes marriage counseling helpful is the fact that the counselor is able to give the spouses a new outlook on their marriage. He or she can also help you a lot in identifying what are the main problems in your marriage and how to properly deal with these.
If you have children, thinking about their welfare in these circumstances is very important which is why it’s recommended that you go to marriage and family counseling. Here, the children will also be able to talk about their perceptions and feelings towards the tough times that the family is experiencing.
And like with marriage counseling, family and marriage counseling can help establish any problems in the relationships between parents, children, and siblings. The sessions are an effective approach to help the entire family cope with their difficulties so that they can effective deal with these and not cause further harm to their relationships.
This is often a very important part of this particular theme. Today, so many marriage and family counselors are available which makes choosing the one that is right for your family a little difficult. If you’re experiencing difficulty deciding, you can always ask referrals from your family and friends. In fact, if you get to hear about a counselor because he or she was referred by a friend or family member, that only means that the counselor is good.
If you can’t get any referrals, you can always do your research first prior to making a decision. Ask for brochures and background information for the counselors that you see within your area. In your research, compare the various services that they offer, the price for every service, their specialties and methodologies. And to get a better knowledge about the marriage and family counselors you can always visit their offices for a free consultation, if they do offer that. Use these free consultations so that you can have a good idea on what the counselors do and you can also see if you’re comfortable with the counselor.

I'm a 15 year old girl, my family has a lot of issues. Should I go up for adoption? I’m a fifteen year old girl, I live with my mom and dad and thirteen year old sister. My parents are somewhat abusive. My mom has hit, scratched, and shoved me about twelve different times in the past few years, and when she does, my dad comes in and says that if I call the police, I’ll have to sleep on the street. Last time I checked, I’ve the right to call the police, and my mom has no right to hurt her child Today, my mom was driving me and my sister home from school, [my mom forces me to take the bus home from school, which I do all alone on a city bus] and my mom started screaming at me and verbally abusing me. I couldn't take it anymore so I [stupidly] threw something at her but she got mad and told me that I cant live with her anymore, and that she hates me. I jump out of the car and my sister throws my brand new macbook that I payed for 100% [$1000] and now the corner of it’s busted. I walked for an hour home, and my mom screams at me again about my grades. I’ve a 3.6 Gpa and just because I didn't do well on one test, she screams at me. God forbid she help me for the next test instead of yelling over what has already been done. The last time my mom hurt me was this weekend, she put 3 long and deep scratch marks on the back of my arm, which people haven’ticed. People think of me as a happy and energetic person and I’m relatively popular, but I don't have any real friends that I can trust, and I'm constantly trying to find friends at my new school. I don't know if I should go up for adoption, go to counseling, live with a relative, or something else. Any suggestions? I'm desparate.

I really think you need to live with a relative, your parents have some ******* issues they need to work out. I swear, if my mom were like that, we'd have to fight. Um, yeah, like I said, live with a relative. You'll be way happier and not have to worry about the **** you're going through now. EDIT: Also, I wouldn't call child services, you don't know where you're going to go sometimes. It's best to be on the safe side and just live with a relative, you know where you're going then.

This is not a safe environment for you to be in. I’m sorry to hear you’re being treated like this. Do you have any relatives that you’re close to you that you can trust will take care of you. Maybe you should talk to a counselor at your school. They could at least help you in the right direction and maybe get you into a foster home. You don’t deserve to be abused and you need to look out for yourself.
